IACLALS, the Association for Commonwealth Literature and Language Studies in India (Regd.) -- is the officially recognized Indian chapter of the international ACLALS (Association for Commonwealth Literature and Language Studies). IACLALS was instituted in India in 1974.
Its objectives are to promote and coordinate PostColonial/ Commonwealth Literature Studies in India, organize seminars and workshops, arrange lectures by writers and scholars including those visiting India.
It also holds an annual conference in collaboration with various Universities and Institutions in India.
The international ACLALS was started in 1964 with a conference in the University of Leeds.
